You Are Mine

YOU ARE MINE

Three powerful words.

The weight of these words lie on the one who said them.
When someone lovingly tells us “You are mine,”
What comes with it?

It means we become under his care
He gives us the assurance that he is there to protect us
To provide for us
That no one can take us away from him
because we are his.

“I am yours.”
The moment we decide to have that covenant with him,
We become his.
When he says “I am yours”
It comes with all that he is.
It comes with all that he has.

When we respond with “I am yours”
We start casting all our cares on him
We start trusting him for who he is
It comes with all that we are
It comes with all that we have

So here, when God says:
DO NOT FEAR
I HAVE SUMMONED YOU BY NAME
YOU ARE MINE
Isaiah 43:1

He is saying that he is giving everything HE IS to us.
Everything he has to us.
Thus, his reminder for us to not fear.

I just love that reminder.
It embraces me with comfort, with assurance, that he’ll be there for me.

I’ve been listening to Oceans by Hillsong lately. I love how the song speaks of moving forward and rising above life’s waves yet being secure of the one who holds life itself.

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine

  1. I like Hillsong United. I even bought a CD before so I can always listen to their songs. My favorite song is “Through it All”, it always reminds me that there is a faithful God who will never let me go despite of my shortcomings.

  2. I love love love this song! I play it sometimes when prepping to go to church on a Sunday. Nakakauplift ng feeling. I love their song Touch the Sky din. Di na ako masyado updated sa new songs nila pero I have a lot of Hillsong songs that I memorize, hehe.

  3. “Your grace abounds in deepest waters

You’ve never failed and You won’t start now”

My favorite lines. Ang ganda ng mga kanta ng Hillsong United. First time ko narinig to, ang ganda! 🙂

    1. Oo nga e. Ganda no? This year ko lang din narinig. Ayoko pakinggan noon kase lahat ginagamit yung song. Nung medyo wala na yung hype, tska ko pinakinggan. haha =)

  4. I, too, would assume that once someone said you are mine, I am under his care. That I will not fear anything as I am well taken care of and well provided. I love that song and it’s message. Perhaps the same song I would sing to my boys.
