Why there’s a plastic included in a kabsa meal

This is kabsa, a famous meat & rice meal here in Jeddah.

This meal usually includes the following:

Rice (usually yellow or brown)

Green leafy vegetables (eaten raw)

Tomato sauce(looks like a salsa)

If you are new in this place, you'll wonder why there's a folded or tied transparent plastic that comes with this meal. That's because it's more fun to eat kabsa on the ground. 🙂 You spread the big plastic under your food, eat with your hands and what to do when you're done? Get the four corners of the plastic and let them meet in the center. No cleaning needed. Haha sounds like for lazy people, huh? Yeah, but it's fun especially when you're eating with friends and a long plastic is spread in the room!
