10 Online Courses to Grab at Udemy this August

Udemy is having a $10 sale for new users. $12 for all the other 5000+ courses.

If it is your first time to hear about Udemy, well, it is an online learning marketplace where you can enroll in courses, or make a course, teach, and earn.

Gone are the days when people think of online learning as second or third class way to learn. When you study courses from actual people who are well-experienced or even experts in their fields, you have first class learning straight from the masters themselves.

I have tried Writing With Flair: How to Become and Exceptional Writer and I love every nugget of information from Shani Ranja who teaches top journalists how to improve their writing and has written and edited for some of the world’s biggest news organizations, including The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Financial Times and Bloomberg News.

Here are other courses you might want to check out. You can also go to Udemy’s website to search for a topic you want to learn more about. The site is on sale, some courses worth $200 are now $10! This is a limited offer so better grab those courses.

  1. Uy, I’ve never heard of Udemy before. I am a member of Shaw Academy naman and I’ve attended a few webinars. It’s just wonderful how we can learn so many new things now at the comfort of our homes, no?

    1. I think I also tried one in Shaw Academy. True that it’s really helpful to learn from home. From different experts. We just really have to search for the best ones. =)

  2. Learning doesn’t stop when you graduate from school. I also want to take classes or online courses if budget and time permit. For now, I take advantage the free courses or webinars online about blogging.

    1. I also take the free courses as much as I can. I’ve realized however, that often, those with payments offer more than those for free. =) (Not all, of course) =)

  3. I find learning online harder than the classroom type. This is because sometimes, i get distracted by searching other things than focusing on what im supposed to be learning. Good thing for you that online learning applies.

    1. That’s true. I love actual class discussions, however, my present situation with baby and kids makes online learning the best option for now. =)

  4. I’ve heard of Udemy and many other sites that offer free classes and webinars way back in 2012 since I used to work in the telco-internet industry. I’ve always been insterested and I enrolled one time but wasn’t able to finish. Maybe a classroom setup is still best for me since I easily get distracted. 🙁 Nonetheless, this is a great option for moms who stay home.

  5. I can’t remember anymore the number of times I’ve attempted to take an online course. I’d be able to do it for the first week but would end up not finishing the course at all because life right now is way too busy. Maybe when I no longer have little kids and have more free time I’d finally be able to finish an online course.

    1. Hi Maio. Yes, I’m already here in Jeddah. =) I saw the event promotion. I’m looking for a way on how I can attend because I have my baby with me. I’d love to go there. Hopefully!! =)

  6. I’m currently enrolled in Coursera and in Udemy, but only the free courses. I’m checking out the writing and blogging courses that you’ve posted. 🙂

  7. All of these sound pretty interesting and useful! Buuuut I remember signing up for online courses last year or was it the year before… and I ended up not being able to attend a single class. Not closing my doors though!

  8. Sorry for the late reply. Anyway, there’s another workshop coming up. It will be on October 28, 2017 (1-5pm). It will be held in Fujifilm Training Center. Here’s the link so you can register.

Don’t worry, you can bring your child. I brought my baby last time. It’s fine with them.
🙂 I hope to see you there.

  9. This is something I am very interested. I always want to improve and develop my writing as I believe if my boys will soon leave the house, at least I have writing to turn to. Thanks for sharing this. Will check it now.
