2006 Plane Diaries: The Strong Tree

It was almost evening, the plane was full.
Full of tired individuals wishing for a faster way to reach their destinations.

The amazing blue, purple, pink, and green colors of dusk painted my window.

I looked down and saw from afar some “bushes” or trees.
They looked like bushes from the flying plane where I was in.
“Poor trees,” I muttered to myself.
They’re alone in the desert.
What a very lonely life, and to add to that loneliness, the place was just scorching hot.

At that point, I started to ask “God, how can you allow this to happen?
How can they survive the heat?

Deep inside, I saw myself as one of the bushes.
With the same questions, with the same sentiments.
Why me? Why here? Why now? What for?
I had too many questions
But with God’s plain answer:

The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Isaiah 58: 11

Peace crept in. He will strengthen my frame.
I will be like a well-watered garden
like a spring whose waters never fail.
No matter where I am. No matter where I will be.
As long as God is with me.
I am and will be okay. =)

I usually like writing my thoughts inside the plane. I love being seated by the window and just stare at the wonderful creations of God from a literally higher view. Not everyone gets that chance to see clouds, seas, mountains, and deserts from a plane.

The above is an excerpt of what I wrote- 10 years ago!?!?! Imagine that. =)

Do you also write in unusual places? =)
