I guess I won’t be missing shawarma in case I crave for one. =) The shawarma here is different. Maybe to suit the taste of the people here.
First, the bread they use is doner, more like a big bun flattened to look like the bun of a burger. In Jeddah, the main filling is just garlic sauce, french fries, and meat. Here, the filling includes meat, lettuce, garlic sauce (or ketchup), jalapeno(optional), tomato, onion. Almost the same as what I used to see in Philippines (expect for the bread, which is different too). Although completely different, I find the doner shawarma here good. Not as good as the original but enough to satisfy my craving taste buds for shawarma.
