But there was a strong tower in the city, and all the men and women and all the leaders of the city fled to shut it and shut themselves in, and they went up to the roof of the tower. Judges 9:51
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it, and they are safe.”
It’s a line from a song that shows how we can run to God as a strong tower. A strong tower in the old times meant a place of safety. A place of refuge when enemies attack the city.
In times of difficulties, this verse reminds me that I should run to God first. Just like a strong tower protecting the people from harm, I know my life is safe in God’s mighty yet loving arms.
