This is the last chapter of the book of Joshua where he was summarizing everything that happened to them and how God worked through them.
He then gave the people the option to choose who they were going to serve. As for him and his household, he said: “we will serve the Lord.”
All the people responded that they will serve God rather than the idols around them.
The entire generation who was there served God until they died.
Such a sweet ending. 😍
May we be like Joshua, able to lead an entire group/generation to obey and serve God all their lives. He did this by making the people part of every battle and victory. The people witnessed how God moved in each battle and how God gave them success in everything. He reminded everyone from time to time of God’s promises for them and the heart ro obey that will bring blessingns to them.
An Entire Generation
May we be part of a generation who are willing to support the Joshuas in our lives. Joshua couldn’t have done it alone. He needed the people to win every attack. He had people who were ready to help him conquer lands and this is what our leaders need right now.
Whether at work, in an organization, religious groups, even in families—what we need are people willing to obey. I remember one CEO saying “I don’t care if he is the best, if he can’t follow my orders, he has to go!” Which is true for any situation. A great skill is of no use if a person can’t follow his superior because he might just do the wrong thing which could eventually create great damages in the company.
Imagine an entire generation serving God. Be part of that generation.
As a leader, may I be like Joshua, an instrument to lead others to be that generation. A generation willing to serve and obey God.
As a member, may I show support at all times to my leaders like the generation of people in Joshua’s time. May I be always willing to be of help to them when they need one and always lifting them up in prayers for the hard tasks on their shoulders. 😘
Aww, such a good ending of a book. I don’t even want to proceed yet to the next one, book of Judges. 😬😂😂
Anyway, the ending of the book of Joshua is so heartwarming and inspiring.
If you’ve read it before, you can share some of the helpful notes you’ve got from it so I and the people reading the comments can learn from them too! 😃
