Al Tazaj, Jeddah

Second to Al Baik, Al Tazaj is probably one of the many chicken houses you can see around that is always packed with families, especially on weekends.

BBQ Chicken

This is their famous BBQ chicken. I find it very tasty. I feel that it has been well-marinated in its herbs and spices. 😉 This one comes with bread, french fries, tahina sauce and drinks.

The chicken is smaller than the regular size of chicken you see around. (Or compared to the chicken mandi below)
This is their whole chicken mandi served with rice.

Garlic and tahina sauce

What’s new? Shrimp Kabsa.

This is the Khalid Bin Walid branch. There’s usually a play area in Al Tazaj that’s why families prefer eating Tazaj, but this particular branch doesn’t have one.

In addition, the chickens used were marinated in a natural blend of garlic, tomato, lemon, ginger and spices and are barbecued on coal. Therefore, we have no secret recipe! -Al Tazaj

  1. Whenever we dine out, I try not to eat chicken. My son likes fried chicken na nakakasawa na kainin. hehehe! But when I saw this photo and you said that it is tasty, nacurious din ako sa taste and hindi siya fried. 🙂

  2. Hubby is always telling me masarap daw ang Kabsa. And when he gets home, he wants for me to try it out din, if there’s a kabsa resto here in PH. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea, baka di namin maubos ang food. I remember him telling me he didn’t like it at first. lol.

    1. I don’t eat the entire kabsa meal. Haha just the chicken. I’m not a fan of the yellow rice. Most men here learn to eat it. 🙂 It’s a good go-to food when you are busy. Parang andoks style. 🙂

  3. All the more I’m convinced that Middle Eastern foods are delicious! I hope that aside from shawarma, I also get to taste that shrimp kabsa and their version of barbecue chicken meal! Please keep on sharing the wonders of the Middle East!
