Life is happening at a fast-paced speed lately that I feel the need to slow down, think things through and just enjoy and embrace everything that is coming my way.
Kids started schooling two months ago. The morning adjustments of waking up earlier than the usual are by now, hopefully have been
mastered or accepted because my kids and I really have no choice as of now anyway. It can be difficult at times because my kids love staying at home. They like playing with their youngest brother and the eldest keeps on complaining that he is staying so long in school. A part of me is happy that he loves the idea of staying at home with the family rather than other people, but I keep on reminding him to enjoy the presence of friends and teachers as well.
Done with all the celebrations in Saudi Arabia for the year. I made a post about our Hajj Holiday 2018 | Isteraha + Shoaibah Beach + Taif . Yesterday was the extension of Saudi National Day and we just stayed at home and rearranged some furniture in the house. We also went to Al Hori restaurant some time in August.

I still bake. Sometimes, baking something I’m craving for can really be satisfying. Below, I tried incorporating the carrots we have left in this chocolate cake and it turned out so well. It’s moist, and you can’t even tell there are shredded carrots inside. I’ll try to make a post about it in the future. =)
Here are some cakes I made for other people. I love this Belle cake because of the rose and the upside down bottle I used to complete the cake, plus, Belle’s gown looks so cute here. =)
Here’s a chocolate cake for a friend. I love how the lettering perfectly fit the cake’s look. I also added small cupcakes on top and frosted them with whipped cream.
Books & More
I’ve been to Jarir Bookstore lately and there so many new items especially for crafts and lettering! These new items decided to show up when I didn’t have the budget for them. 😂 Why?! Back when there were just few choices to choose from the art supplies in Jarir, I had all the money I could spend. 😂 Anyway, here’s a glimpse of the bookshelves of this part of the world.
It’s finally here! Nerdy Nummies cookbook. Rosanna Pansino combines baking and characters seen in games and cartoons. In short, baking with geekiness. Kids love her show because it’s really fun to watch, plus, they see their favorite characters decorated as cakes.
New watercolor and pens from different international brands.
WordPress has recently released the Gutenberg editor that could possible replace its classic editor. Knowing its still on its beta stage, I conditioned myself that there would be constant updates to fix bugs and to further enhance it.
I also go back to classic editor, from time to time, especially when I get lost in the middle of using Gutenberg. You can just go back to all posts, and when you place the cursor on the edit, you will be given the option to use the Gutenberg or classic editor.
Now, I feel bad for new users who have recently moved to WordPress. They might get entangled in the middle of this transition and feel that they made a huge mistake of using WordPress as a platform. 😬 Well, if you are new to WordPress and are experiencing confusion- you are not alone. 😂 Hang in there, you can keep using the classic editor until the final release of the Gutenberg.
This is the most awaited month of every artist. 😂 Inktober 2018 prompts are here.
Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month.
Inktober rules: (from https://inktober.com)
1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
2) Post it*
3) Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2018
Note: you can do it daily, or go the half-marathon route and post every other day, or just do the 5K and post once a week. What ever you decide, just be consistent with it. Inktober is about growing and improving and forming positive habits, so the more you’re consistent the better.
Here are the prompts for Inktober 2018. There’s also Inktober + Procreate for Procreate users. I printed both hoping to ink this October. I haven’t been successful in completing this challenge in the past. =)
Love these blue shoes. It is so comfortable and it’s great for going out for quick errands. I found it in a 5SR store and it was supposed to be buy one take one for 5SR. Well, I didn’t know that so when I finally reached the cashier and the saleslady gave it to me for 3SR, I wanted to pay 5SR because I felt 3 SR was too low already. haha So far, so good. This pair has been serving me now for 2 months already, I think.
I don’t really mind wearing items with unknown brands. If I find them cute and it feels good to wear, then I go for it. =)
That’s it for now. There are so many things to share, but I just can’t find time to sit down lately and finish a post. Today, I challenged myself to post something and even for the coming days. Writing helps my mind work and get that creativity be enhanced even more.
